Ship management

 COLUMBIA Ship management is one of the world's largest ship managers, dealing with technical and commercial management of a fleet of over 300 cargo and passenger ships in operation around the world for internal and external owners.

Ownership of ships

The Schoeller Holdings Group currently owns around 45 ships which are operational. A further 18 have been ordered or are under construction. 

Ship crewing

Our CSM Cruise Services subsidiary provides restaurant and hotel staff for various first-class passenger ships. 

Scheduled shipping

The Group operates two regular services in the Asian area: Bengal Tiger Line Ltd. and Austral Asia Line B.V. The main routes run between Singapore and India, from Australia to Singapore via Indonesia and from Australia to Japan via Singapore. In addition, New Pacific Shipping (Newpac) also serves the island groups in the Pacific from Southeast Asia. 

Ship construction

Planning, development and the construction of new ships plus the development of innovative financing options are a further business field. In this case, our subsidiaries co-operate closely with leading ship holding emissions houses.

Chartering

Our subsidiary company, Hanse Bereederung GmbH, charters its own and external dry tonnage. United Produkt Tanker GmbH and United Chemical Tankers GmbH offer the same service for tankers, and manage and plan leading tanker pools in the product tanker and chemicals markets. Both companies additionally act as purchasing and sales brokers for ship tonnage.

Agency

As a ship agent, Horizon Shipping Agencies (Singapore) PTE Ltd. represents the interests of both the Austral Asia Line and further charter shipping lines, besides representing various customers as a ship broker.

Ship financing

Together with powerful banking partners, Schoeller Holdings holds a majority stake in First Ship Lease (Singapore). This financing company is the only leasing company which is engaged exclusively in the maritime industry and finances diverse maritime assets.

Hotels & Resorts

COLUMBIA Hotels & Resorts encompasses four first-class and luxury hotels in Germany and three on Cyprus.

Restaurants

The Group has the Greek and Cypriot franchise rights to Pizza Express, the pizza restaurant chain positioned in the high-class segment, which boasts 200 branches in England and 30 concession restaurants in other countries.

COLUMBIA Plaza

In November 2008, Schoeller Holdings undertook a project in the old city of Limassol (Cyprus). This involves a complex which offers various leisure and commercial services (restaurants, conference facilities, cinema, lounges, and residential facilities) and inserts a new architectural symbol into the historic, old part of Limassol. 

Interior furnishing, design and real estate

COLUMBIA Objekteinrichtungs-Gesellschaft mbH and COLUMBIA Projektentwicklung GmbH are a planning and property furnishing company, which operates in the national and international hotel furnishings, gastronomy, shop fitting and private domicile sector. COLUMBIA Objekt's tasks encompass the sectors of interior architecture, design, the creation of room concepts, co-ordination and project management up to and including completion. COLUMBIA Projektentwicklung GmbH is the owner and operator of the Reethof holiday home park in Tinnum on Sylt.

Jet Service

ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH is an aircraft repair and maintenance facility for small, midsize and large cabin private aviation and transport category aircraft with major facilities at the airports in Hannover (Germany) and Cologne (Germany) and satellite stations in Luxembourg (Luxembourg) and Pafos (Cyprus).

ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH currently employs a staff of 60 highly motivated and skilled aircraft specialists and holds EASA Part-145, Part-21 and Part-M approvals for a wide selection of aircraft makes and types.

Services offered include airframe, engine and avionics system works, including the design and performance of major repairs and alterations. ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH has Service Center agreements with Honeywell (Engine and Avioncs) and Rockwell Collins (Avionics).

Horticulture

House and Garden, founded in 1981 in Limassol/Cyprus, is specialised in the production, sale and marketing of house plants in highly-developed, computer-controlled glass hothouses.

Quality Laundry Services

QLS Quality Laundry Services, is a joint venture between Schoeller Holdings LTD & Muskitas Holdings.
