The Marco Polo at COLUMBIA Hotel Wilhelmshaven is one of the 10 best restaurants in Lower Saxony.
The Marco Polo, which has become one of the top stars in Northern Germany's gourmet heaven, has been awarded a Michelin Star each year since 2011. Last year under the management of chef de cuisine David Mottl, who is an imaginative chef with a great deal of depth. His credo: “Kitchen and Cooking is the point where our whole life philosophy becomes perceptible.”
Apprenticeship and travels have led our star chef to various destinations: from Heinz Winkler's Residenz (**) to Joachim Wissler's Marcobrunn restaurant in Schloss Reinhartshausen (**), to New York restaurant Lutece (*) and to Christian Bau in Victor's Gourmet Restaurant in Perl (**).
The Marco Polo awaits you with exciting creations of completely different textures such as hot and cold, soft and crispy or fine and rustic. Inspired by the character of the individual ingredients, native Franconian Mottl conjures up a harmonious "wow" factor for palate and spirit. Using regional products and based on classic french cuisine he creates outstanding moments of enjoyment.
