President of Cyprus, Dimitris Christofias, spoke of the ever-improving relationships between Russia and his home country, during his address to attendees of the Cyprus-Russia Festival on June 4th. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Christofias declared his continued gratitude for the unwavering support that Russia has bestowed upon Cyprus for the last 5 decades and mentioned the “brotherly ties of friendship and cooperation” between the two countries.

 

This is the 6th consecutive year that tourists taking their holidays in Cyprus have rubbed shoulders with local Cypriots to witness exhibitions and shows by Russian artists and performers. The Cyprus-Russia Festival is recognised as being the perfect platform to highlight the strong relationship between the two nations and further builds on the connection that they share.
