Wilhelmshaven – beautiful, green, and so much to offer! At any time of the year...
Culture on the coast? And plenty of it!
The range is rich and colourful: visit the museum ship or the coastal museum and you will be amazed at what you will learn about storm tides, mutinying sailors and stranded whales!
Discover the fascinating underwater world, virtually and in 4D, in the Oceanis.
The local art centre is just the right address for all those interested in young and regional art and current artistic trends. Fancy a boat trip? Discover the region from the water: the seal banks, Arngast lighthouse or Helgoland, Germany's only deep-sea island, are wonderful destinations for an excursion. A trip around the town's historical port is also impressive.
Jazz and more is played in the Pumpwerk, whilst classic and modern performances are on offer in the Stadttheater.
Sporting events are also plentiful: May sees the start of the "Gorch-Fock-Marathon", the "NordseeMan" triathlon takes place in August and the "JadeWeserPort-Cup" sailors head out to sea in October.
The "Wochenende an der Jade" (weekend on the Jade) is the town's maritime festival, enticing thousands of people from the all over the region to Jadebusen in July.
