The seal banks, Arngast lighthouse or Helgoland, Germany's only deep-sea island, are wonderful destinations for an excursion and finally a trip around the town's historical port will be an impressive experience.

 

If you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, come and visit the "Pumpwerk" - Jazz and more is played here, whilst classic and modern performances are on offer in the Stadttheater.

 

 

 Sporting events are also plentiful: Don't miss the start of the "Gorch-Fock-Marathon" in May, the "NordseeMan" triathlon takes place in August and the "JadeWeserPort-Cup" sailors are going to set sail in october.

 

The "Wochenende an der Jade" (weekend on the Jade) in July is the town's maritime festival, attracting thousands of people from all over the region to Jadebusen.
