Whether sun or rain: regardless of the weather, there is always plenty to do!
There is no lack of excursion destinations in Rüsselsheim and the vicinity. The centrally located Verna Park has numerous activities on offer: play a round on the mini-golf course, allow your children to let off steam on the playground, check out the birdhouse or visit the "Kultur im Sommer" (culture in the summer) festival. The park, whose layout has a late-romantic period touch, allows you to experience unforgettable moments!
A walk along the Main brings you to the Opelvillen Art Centre, in which contemporary works can be admired. A few steps further and you are standing before the city's fortifications – over 600 years old and unique in Hessen! Perhaps you would now like to take a boat trip? From the new ship mooring, you can travel to Frankfurt or to Rüdesheim via Mainz and Wiesbaden. You can, of course, also view the water from a different perspective: simply take a dive into the Waldschwimmbad (forest swimming pool) or "An der Lache" adventure pool where slides, sauna and solarium ensure a real summer mood!
For lovers of nature, we recommend a cycling tour on the regional park route from Rüsselsheim to Raunheim/Bischofsheim. Experience the region's charm at first hand whilst cycling along the river. Hessen's uplands offer walkers ideal routes and idyllic locations for picnicking. Or if a glass of wine is more to your taste, then set off to the Rheingau – the vineyard is calling!
