Species-rich and very green – fauna and flora in the valleys in southern Cyprus

Take a walk around the unique landscape surrounding the Resort. Follow the winding pathways and discover

some of the natural world that typifies this part of the island. Make your discoveries on foot or perhaps by bicycle.

 

Nature lovers will be delighted by the diverse species of native flora and fauna. There are more than 40 different species of orchids in vibrant colours waiting to be discovered. And the impressive white cliffs to the east of the bay are a well-known nesting ground for Griffon vultures. 

 

The Troodos Mountains boast species-rich fauna, diverse vegetation and many villages, large and small, with fantastic views into the valleys and over the mountain peaks.

 

And last but not least; take time to discover the numerous picturesque mountain villages, the Byzantine Kykkos Monastery and Orthodox churches with beautiful frescoes and icons. Many sights are located only a few minutes away by car.
