In cultural terms, there is a great deal to be discovered in Cyprus. Numerous archaeological sites with superb mosaics and many churches and monasteries are an intriguing way to find out more about the island. Or visit a contemporary art exhibition in Limassol nearby.
And the surrounding area is a real joy for all nature lovers. From the steep coasts, dunes and salt marshes to the craggy, hilly regions, the lava belt and the high Troodos Mountains, the island is home to a wide variety of wild flowers and plants, many of which are to be found in no other country.
