The Cypriot-Russian festival has been a resounding success for the past 5 years and this year’s festival is sure to be just as exciting. Russian newspaper Vestnik Kipra has teamed up with Andreas Christou, Mayor of Limassol and Russian Ambassador, Vyacheslav Shumskiy to host this unique insight into the traditions and culture of the Russian people. The festival is held in an effort to promote good relationships between the two countries and will also help to support Christou’s efforts to gain the European Culture Capital title for the municipality in 2017.

Festival Highlights For Your Cyprus Holiday Russian Experience

We’re pleased to report that the opening of the Cypriot-Russian Festival will be attended by none other than President of the Republic, Demetris Christofias. The day’s line up will be jam-packed with performances, exhibitions and concerts – a chance to sample a taste of the real Russia. If you decide to include this fabulous event as part of your Cyprus holiday schedule, get yourself down to the event opening at 3 o’clock. The opening ceremony will be held at 7 pm and an exciting performance from Russian pop group Reflex will take place later in the evening at 9 pm – all topped off with a display of fabulous fireworks to mark the end of the day’s happenings.
